Educational background: I completed my undergraduate training at McMaster University in the Integrated Science Program. I then went on to do my MD/PhD here at Queen’s!
Hometown: I was born in Los Angeles and lived most of my life in Toronto but have been living in Kingston for the past 7 years so I really consider this to be my hometown now.
Research/Academic interests: I’m still figuring that out! Trying to just stay open to all opportunities but I love to teach and mentor so I have a feeling teaching will be a part of my future.
Hobbies/Personal interests: Outside of work, you can find me at the local CrossFit gym, or out training for my next triathlon (I completed my first IronMan 70.3 in 2022!). I’m a sucker for a patio drink and it takes 0.1 seconds to convince me to go out for dinner. I also love a game of Euchre, any opportunity to hang out with my friends, travelling, soaking up the sun (I am a self-proclaimed sun worshipper) and running my dog’s Instagram account (@malliemeetsworld).
What is the last book you read? Currently making my way through the Harry Potter series, because why not?!
Where would you like to live if you could live anywhere? Somewhere warm! I love the sun and having access to a beach…. Who knows maybe I’ll end up back where I was born in California.
What is your favourite sound? Anything Taylor Swift, I’m addicted!
What would you like to tell prospective applicants to our program? Queen’s is a great tight-knit community. You get lots of exposure to different fields of Psychiatry and get to work with some amazing and supportive faculty and residents. I loved my time here in medical school and staying on for residency was a no-brainer. Also Kingston is a great place to live!
