The Department of Psychiatry at Queen’s University is focused on fostering world-class research activities that support our core vision to be a transformative agent in mental health care by revolutionizing the way mental wellness is promoted, and mental illnesses are conceptualized, prevented and treated across the lifespan. Our researchers are at the forefront of conducting cutting edge research in areas of mood disorders, interventional psychiatry, student mental health, digital mental health, psychosis, anxiety disorders, neuropsychiatry, forensic mental health, medical education, and other areas.
The Department of Psychiatry is committed to supporting research activities in the department, including provisions for internal research grants, Resident research, annual conferences, and faculty development. Additionally, our research Labs and units have well-developed infrastructure to support research studies and well-trained staff that have many years of both clinical and research experience. We are also committed to fostering national and international collaborations with community partners, academic institutions, policy makers, and the industry in areas that align with our core mission, vision, and strategic planning framework.
