Dr. Wagdy Loza

Dr. Wagdy Loza, is a licensed psychologist in Ontario and a Member of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) and served as the Chair of the section on Extremism/Terrorism of the Canadian Psychological association. He is currently a member of the Ontario Review Board. This board is responsible for releasing forensic patients. He has served as the President of the Board of Directors, St. Lawrence Youth Association for Young Offenders, Kingston, Ontario. He retired from Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) with almost 30 years of experience. He was the Chief Psychologist at Kingston Penitentiary. Also he is an Adjunct Assistant Professor (Psychiatry, Queen’s University) and ex. Adjunct Professor (Psychology, Carleton University). He has 40 publications and offered workshops and presentations in several countries around the world such as Australia, Canada, Egypt, Kuwait, Amsterdam, Portugal, South Africa, and the USA. Dr. Loza has developed two measures. The first is the Self Appraisal Questionnaire (the SAQ) for predicting violent and non-violent recidivism among correctional/forensic populations. The second measure is the Assessment and Treatment of Radicalization Scale (the ATRS) designed to measure Middle-Eastern extremism and terrorism. At this time Dr. Loza is involved in research about radicalization and completing risk/need assessments for incarcerated offenders.
