Division of Student Mental Health

Interim Division Chair: Dr. Anne Duffy

The Division of Student Mental Health was created at the recommendation of the 2012 Principal's Commission on Mental Health.

The Division serves as a centre of excellence in the provision of student mental health care and a place for scholarship and training.  While currently based at the Student Wellness Services of Queens University, the Division ultimately will build on existing and developing alliances with other  psychiatric providers in the post-secondary sector in this region including St. Lawrence College, the Royal Military College and Loyalist College to create an integrated network of care and scholarship.

Central to that vision the Division is intended to be the home for a funded Chair in Student Mental Health, the first such research chair  in the world  for a psychiatrist  to be solely devoted to the study of the mental health of post-secondary education students.

The Division is currently hosting an international collaborative study of the factors central to student success as part of the UFlourish Research Project group
