Dr. Drury joined the Department of Psychiatry in December 2020 from the United Kingdom. He graduated from Warwick Medical School (UK) in 2008 and has been a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK) since 2014. He has additionally attained a BSc in Biological Sciences, MSc in Neuroscience, and Post Graduate Certificates in Higher Education and Evidence-Based Psychological Treatments. He completed his psychiatric training at The Maudsley Hospital, London, before working as a Consultant Psychiatrist in rehabilitation, as well as in acute and out-patient settings. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and a past Honorary Visiting Lecturer in Malawi. He has been highly involved in medical student and resident teaching, creating e-learning and case-based learning modules, and was an Associate Fellow in Simulation. He co-authored a prescribing guideline for use in Malawi and has edited chapters relevant to psychiatry in a clinical pharmacology textbook. He has presented posters at local conferences, spoken at an international conference and has even given expert opinion on the TV! He has published a number of wide-ranging peer-reviewed research articles and is looking forward to further develop his research portfolio within the Department of Developmental Disabilities.
